The Peace Center (PC) is a Catholic Church initiative  located in Takeo Province, Cambodia, about 100 km  from Phnom Penh. It functions as a small, self contained village that includes a rehabilitation center  for children with disabilities, a Montessori  kindergarten, a residential area for families living with  HIV. The Center is guided and supported by Bishop  Olivier Schmitthaeusler and the Catholic Church.

The roots of the Peace Center trace back to 2003 2004, when Fr. Olivier began assisting HIV-positive  families in Kep Province who had been receiving  ineffective traditional treatment. In response to their  worsening conditions, he founded the JOHANNES  PAUL II Center, providing food, shelter, and basic care.

Recognizing the need for better access to education  and healthcare, the initiative was relocated from the  isolated mountainous area of Phnom Vor in 2010 to  its current location in Pong Teuk Kha Tbong village, a  more developed area in Takeo province with nearby  schools and health services. Construction of the  Peace Center began on September 15, 2010, and it  was officially inaugurated on January 4, 2011.

Give a Hand for Hope

Please read a story from very humble Ms Sophoan who started this school .

Give a Hand for Hope – A Story of Change

Founded in January 2009, Give a Hand for Hope began its mission with just 20 children from landless, underprivileged families in a small village.

Through a strong partnership with Amur, we have worked tirelessly to provide children in Kampong Speu province (about 90 km from Phnom Penh) with access to education, school materials, nutritious food, healthcare, and public schooling support. We also sponsor students who wish to pursue professional training, giving them the tools to build a brighter future.

Today, 76 children are under our care, and our dream is to reach 100 children very soon.

When we started, the situation was heartbreaking—many parents could not afford to send their children to school. To change this, I began teaching in a small hut on weekends, providing school supplies with the help of my family and friends. The children sat on the floor, eager to learn despite the difficult conditions.

Seeing our struggle, a company kindly donated a building, allowing us to establish a real school. It was not easy—we worked tirelessly, even selling products made from Khmer krama at community fairs to sustain the school.

Today, we stand strong because of people who believe in giving hope. And with your support through Musica Felice, we can continue to change lives—one child at a time.

Thank you for helping us give hope and a future to these children.
